Adobe Acrobat & Reader Updater

Starting with the version 10, product name X, Acrobat and Reader (formerly AcroRead) automatically installs the automatic installer to the system upon installation of the programs.
* This automatic program runs in the background and constantly check for updates, automatically download update files, and often automatically installs updates.
** This updater program can be stopped only through Registry Editor (RegEdit)
  1. Disable Automatic Updater
    1. Run “RegEdit”
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM
    3. Create/update checker registry string
      1. Right click
      2. Select New, under which, DWORD(32)
      3. Type “iCheck”, then Enter/Click-ok
      4. Double-click/enter “iCheck” string
      5. Change the value to
        1. “0” to disable
        2. “1” to check only
        3. “2” to check and download only
        4. “3” to check and download and install automatically
    4. Exit Registry Editor
